La Perle Noire restaurant
Our first dinner on Mahé
On our first day in Beau Vallon we asked Stephane and Marquise, the owners of Clef des Iles, for advice on where to eat. They suggested La Perle Noire, a restaurant which was just a few minutes walking, and served excellent food. So, we asked them to make reservations.
Around 8PM we walked to La Perle Noire, which is indeed just a few minutes walking from Clef des Iles and next to the Coral Strand hotel.
We were welcomed by the friendly owner and guided to our table outside under the palm trees looking out over a tropical garden. Very romantic, a perfect first honeymoon evening. The menu contained many fresh fish and seafood. Maybe even the fish caught in the morning right in front of our doorstep! Starters, entrees, dessert, all had delicious taste. Prices are at an European level.
Recommended restaurant
If you’re looking for a romantic restaurant with great food, a mixture of tropical and romantic atmosphere in the Beau Vallon area this is the place to go. If you make reservations make sure to ask for a table outside, because those are the best tables. The restaurant also has quite a few inside tables, and frankly I don’t think you want to sit inside during a sultry tropical evening.
Another tip: don’t book half board or all inclusive accommodation your entire holiday. There are plenty of good restaurants you can try outside your hotel.
Location La Perle Noire
The restaurant is located next to the Coral Strand Hotel in Beau Vallon on Mahé. Next to the restaurant is a parking space, so you can come walking, with a taxi or with your own rental car.

Very good Restaurante La Perle Noir.
It was way back in 1991 when I dined at La Perle Noire. Normally, I have a terrible memory for names and places, but …. the La Perle Noire will forever be in my memory! A fantasic restaurant … nowhere quite compares with La Perle Noire. I hope to be able to return one day ….sadly, it’s rather expensive to visit, I live in the UK.
